The Inster FoldSat LEO is offered in both military and commercial models, meeting requirements for mission-critical and commercial communications-on-the-pause (COTP) use even in the roughest of environments, where terrestrial networks are unreliable or unavailable.
Both models provide Wi-Fi 6 and interfaces for 1Gb Ethernet, night vision goggles and external GNSS inputs. When folded, this terminal easily can be carried anywhere, set up quickly and run on battery at full speed!
The FoldSat LEo Ku OW terminal is a person-portable, self-aligning, easy to deploy ESA user terminal optimized for operation over the OneWeb Ku-Band LEO satellite constellation. With its low-profile, foldable antenna, the Inster terminal represents a game changer for field operations and maintenance response in areas beyond the bounds of traditional fixed and wireless networks.
The terminal is compact and lightweight, yet delivering high-speed data, video and voice services under the toughest environmental conditions. It comes with a Wi-Fi 6 built-in modem, an industrial grade AC/DC unit, a tripod and a set of optional extras (transit case, backpack) which makes it the perfect solution for civil operations.

Network Coverage
The operator Eutelsat OneWeb manages a constellation of 650 satellites in low Earth orbit at 1,200 km with polar coverage, providing high-speed Internet access to both professionals and individuals on land and at sea.
The service offers download speeds of up to 195 Mbps and upload speeds of up to 32 Mbps, with a latency of around 70ms and a commitment to bandwidth quality.
About fifty ground stations, progressively deployed worldwide, serve as access points to the Internet network and mark the rollout of services, regulated according to the respective countries’ regulations.
Compact dual-band, dual-pol solution
- Uses Ka-band for high volume/traffic and Ku-band for coverage gaps:
– electronically seamless switch between services to maximize bandwidth and network access
– Uninterrupted by bad weather using Ku-band - Compact form factor with single center feed design and Ka-band transceiver integration for simpler RF design
- Electronically switch function for Ku-Ka band switching and co & cross polarization switching with electrical RF switch.
Future proof: multi-orbit tracking
- Support on any commercial Ku-band and Ka-band operation provided predominantly by GEO satellites
- Dual antenna installation support for NGSO make-before-break HOs
- Supports wide Ka-band feed (2.5 GHz bandwidth) covering the MEO constellation
- GEO & MEO tracking system (program tracking and conical scanning)
