Designed with increased G/T performance, the OW11FM is the only Flat Panel UT that can ensure SLA and CIR commitments are achieved for maritime customers.

The OW11FM Enterprise Flat Panel for Maritime is Intellian’s leading user terminal, delivering enterprise-grade connectivity at sea. Aerodynamic, with a low profile, it is optimized for maritime applications.

OW11Fx Introduction

• The OW11Fx is an electronically scanned array (ESA) user terminal (UT) which can be operated in the Eutelsat OneWeb low earth orbit (LEO) satellite constellation.
• The Eutelsat OneWeb communications network is comprised of terrestrial gateways positioned around the globe communicating with Eutelsat
  OneWeb user terminals.
• A radio link to the satellites is established using the UT operating in the Ku-band.
• The Enterprise series consists of three product variants, the OW11FL (land fixed), the OW11FM (maritime), and the OW11FV (land mobile).
• The UTs provide network and internet access via the Eutelsat OneWeb network

OW11Fx Features

• Full-duplex active electronically scanned array.

• Dual GNSS receivers provide differential GNSS location to support automated true north calibration and highly accurate timing reference.
• The KIM (kinetic inertial module) provides tilt measurement to aid in installation, as well as roll, pitch and yaw data to support mobility. The KIM is comprised of two modules (IMX and GPX) which jointly function as the Inertial Navigation System. The KIM provides position, velocity and acceleration information to the User Terminal. – This feature aids in the installation of the OW11Fx series as well as supports mobility use cases for the OW11FM and OW11FV.
• Efficient enclosure profile for aesthetics as well as functional rain shedding radome.
• The CNX feeds power and data to the ODU over a single IFL coax cable and provides data interface to the user. Intellian offers multiple CNX variants to support the varying requirements across multiple use cases and applications.

Requirement Specification Maritime Profile – OW11FM

The Enterprise UT (OW11FM) shall support the following dynamic profile for marine vessels operating in moderate to rough sea conditions, while maintaining no more than 0.7deg motion induced beam pointing error:

Angular Acceleration (deg/s^2): 75.0 +/- TBD (1-sigma)
Translational Acceleration (m/sec^2): 4.0 +/- 1.0 (1-sigma).                                                                                                                                                                      The UT mobility system shall compensate for rotational motion on each axis (roll, pitch, yaw) that does not exceed a maximum rate of 17 deg/s.
Angular Velocity
The Enterprise UT (OW11FM) shall compensate for rotational motion on each axis (roll, pitch, yaw) that does not exceed a maximum rate of 17 deg/s.
Angular Acceleration
The Enterprise UT (OW11FM) shall compensate for angular acceleration on all axes that does not exceed a maximum rate of 75 deg/s/s.
Translational Acceleration
The Enterprise UT (OW11FM) shall compensate for translational acceleration on all axes that does not exceed a maximum rate of 5 m/s/s.
Shock & Vibe
The Enterprise UT (OW11FM) shall support COTM (Comms on the Move) operation while complying with MIL-STD-810H 514.8 vibration Procedure I, and MIL-STD-810H 516.8 shock Procedure I, as well as MIL-STD-167-1 vibration and shock profiles and shall maintain connection in a manner that ensures the end user doesn’t perceive a pause or drop in connectivity when subjected to motion the motion profile defined in the “Mobility Performance – Maritime” Requirements.
Blockage Recovery
If a blockage occurs between the antenna and the satellite, the antenna will then regain connection once the blockage is no longer present. Recovery time will follow the below table based on the total time for which the blockage occurred.

Customer Network Exchange

Intellian’s Customer Network Exchange (CNX) units are a critical component of any OneWeb user terminal installation, providing both the power and data connectivity to the Flat Panel user terminal, and the connectivity to customer equipment and networks. CNX variants are offered for specific deployment scenarios including Land Fixed, Maritime and Land Mobility.

The OW11FM features Intellian’s advanced tracking technology, extended scan range, and blockage mitigation, improves connection reliability and availability even while in motion. Delivering the best performance at scan, the innovative flat panel technology facilitates smooth reliable handovers, which ensure seamless and undisrupted connectivity.

Harsh Environment Performance

The OW11FM is designed to ensure dependable performance in even the most demanding environments, operating in extremely low temperatures down to -40 °C and up to +55 °C (-40 °F to 131 °F). Integrated radar rejection filtering ensures performance in high interference installations and reliable broadband services for customers at sea.

Simplified Installation

The lightweight design and optimal form factor of the OW11FM enables easy installation by a single person. The universal mount design supports standard maritime mounts. Installation is further simplified through use of combined power and data over a single coaxial cable connecting the below deck CNX units. The use of Intellian’s mobile app for site survey, automated configuration, and monitoring further reduces the time required to get online.
